Game Update 1


Phase 1: The Game Mechanic

  • -The primary mechanic of the game is for the player to jump through portals to different levels of varying terrain and aesthetic to collect materials and items from enemies to craft items that will allow them to progress to different planets.  Once the final planet or boss is reached, the game is over upon outcome. The minimal viable outcome is the player can participate in space exploration and resource gathering.

Phase 2: Game States

  • -Harvesting – Adding materials to inventory.
  • -Exploring – No materials or combat taking place.
  • -Fighting – Fighting enemies that will reduce enemy health when hit.
  • -Advancement – Specific item is acquired to progress to another planet/boss.
  • -Empty – Material node is empty of material.
  • -NodeState – Mining Resource is Destroyed.
  • -Menu – Options for play.
  • -PlayGame – system and player is loaded.
  • -Instructions – How to play.
  • -Credits – Scrolling credits.
  • -Starting – Starting planet for player.
  • -Collision – Unable to move through terrain or objects.
